Welcome to Basilico’s Pasta e Vino Italian Food Restaurant
BASILICO’S TEMPORARILY CLOSED / MOVING TO NEW LOCATION
After a long search, Basilico’s has found its new home, and we believe it’s just right! We hope to have it ready to open sometime in August 2017. Stay tuned for updates and more details. We can’t wait to once again be your neighborhood Italian restaurant, where family and friends come together over a big bowl of home style pasta, some warm toasted garlic bread and a good glass of vino.
With love and appreciation, Tanti Saluti
Basilico’s Pasta e Vino
Good friends and customers of Rose and Basilico’s, we want to first wish all of you and your families a Happy Holidays.
We also want to thank all of you for your support over the last 18 years. It meant so much to Rose and her staff. Because of you, Basilico’s was able to become a staple in the community, and a home away from home for so many, where her customers could come in and unwind with a warm plate of comfort food, a good glass of wine and a friendly staff who often knew your name. That is the way she wanted it. Rose always enjoyed bringing you into her dining room, where you and your friends and families also celebrated so many milestone events in your own lives. She speaks of that often, and it seems that is what she cherishes most, in addition to watching so many young neighborhood children grow up in front of her eyes each time they came in to have dinner with their parents. So many great memories!
You were the reason for Rose’s success, but also why she was able to endure the unexpected challenges she faced over the years related to not only running a business, but more importantly her health. Your encouragement and loyalty helped make the difference each step of the way. During this time she has forged a lot of very close friendships with her customers too.
So as most of you now know, Basilico’s as of December 1, 2016, is temporarily closed. We are sure by now you know the story, which was also published online by the OC Weekly. And although it was a sudden and unfortunate development, in the end she succeeded in protecting fully what she had built, but ultimately still agreed to move on, so she could experience a new beginning. Yes, it is honestly very sad and disappointing for us to say goodbye to our original home considering how it all happened. But instead of feeling bitterness and frustration with this development, we will look forward to an even better future! One which we hope all of you will be a part of!
Until then, please stay tuned as we continue to search for a new home. One that we hope will be able to provide more room and comfort for Rose’s customers, and some new offerings and surprises too. But most importantly, Rose wants a new location that enables her to still maintain the original Basilico’s warm and intimate setting. That for her is a must! There have been several options available to Rose over the last few months, but none yet have felt just right. She would prefer to wait until she knows it’s the perfect fit. She has her eye on a few possibilities.
If you have ideas, suggestions or you are interested in being involved in some way in the transition, please email us. If you need to mail anything to Rose or correspond with letters, you can still send to the current Basilico’s postal address and it will all be forwarded to her.
We also just recently set up a Twitter account so we could more easily keep everyone updated. So please follow us @BasilicosHB and we will post messages there when we have important news to share. If you have photos that depict memories of your time at Basilico’s – please also share them with us, by either emailing them to us, posting them on Twitter or Facebook or by simply sending copies by mail to the same postal address.
These holidays are especially important ones, because they give us a unique opportunity to express how grateful we are for each of you, and all that you have done for us! Rose feels truly blessed!
We will see you at the next grand opening of Basilico’s. Can’t wait!
